Jameson Jones-Doyle

Who am I? More importantly, why do I think that I can help you?

My name is Jameson - Jay to most - and I have spent the majority of my life with a smile on my face (but more on that later).  I have been an international motivational speaker since 1999, presenting to large and small audiences on the power of confidence, positive outlooks, and the keys to personal, social, and professional success.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Advance Experimental Psychology specialized in factors impacting responsiveness as well as a Master’s degree in Marketing Administration from the John Molson School of Business with a specialization in the psychology of decision making.  Professionally I have worked for the United Nations, McGill University, and the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, as well as a variety of other institutions and organizations.  Rather than continuing to list accomplishments and awards, I will simply provide this link - it's all there if you're interested.

So why me?  What understanding of the human dimension do I bring that might be of value?

Understanding the mindsets, motivations, and actions of others has been a critical factor in my life, and the reason for that is simple.  I have Cerebral Palsy, which has affected my speech and certain aspects of motor coordination.  Some people might consider this to be a hindrance - something to downplay and hide - but I consider it in a quite different light.  When I was quite young I had the realization that my disability was the greatest social filter possible, parsing out all of the people that I would not want to know anyways and leaving only the positive, intelligent, multidimensional people in my life.  Of course, with great power comes great responsibility: it would be unfair to categorically associate every instance of a person not liking me with them discrimnating against me due to my disability.  This led me to realize that I had a very important part to play in the interaction, and only if I expressed myself intelligently and generally presented myself sensibly could I honestly conclude that the problem did not lie with me.  This is just a small example of the depth of understanding and analysis that I bring to the table; for more examples, please see my articles section and read some testimonials from past clients and contacts.

What can you expect during a coaching session with me?

The first hour is free, and in that time I will ask a lot of questions.  The questions will be split into two groupings: the first will pertain to what aspect(s) of your life - personally or professionally - you want to change or understand with greater clarity, and the second will focus more on you, your history, your wishes / aspirations, desires, and motivators, and so on.  After this, I should have a better sense of whether I can provide structured guidance or whether another person might be a better fit.  I will never accept a client that I don't truly believe I can positively impact.

If we decide that there are gains to be had by working together, we will chart out the specific areas that you feel might benefit from my guidance.  Depending on the "what", the tactics, tools, and timelines for creating positive impact will shift accordingly.  Once our first session is over we will have a roadmap with milestones and an end goal, and can then establish timelines to get there.  We can evaluate our progress as we go, and add new goals if they arise and you feel them to be worthwhile.

Why am I passionate about this, and how does that help you?

To be completely honest, the reason that I love coaching people lies in one of my inherent personality characteristics.  I derive hapiness and satisfaction from knowing that I have played a positive role in someone's quest to reach their potential, thus (hopefully) helping them to lead a happier life.  Those who know me well have probably experienced a night where I have left the group to have an extended discussion with a stranger simply because they decided to open up to me and I thought that I could help them.  I have always been this way, and now I have decided that it's something that I would like to pursue professionally.  This passion to influence positive change in people translates into a dedication to my clients and my craft that is unparalleled, and the results speak for themselves - just read some testimonials!

Feel free to contact me if you would like more information, or to set up your free 30 minute session.
